How to Edit a Pdf in Google Drive on a PC

The most convenient and easy way to edit a pdf in google drive is on pc and if you’re also going to do that, follow the steps below.

Your initial task is to upload the PDF to your Google Drive account. Although it’s easy, I have added the steps below to help you.

Step 1: First, open google drive on any browser on your computer.

Step 2: Log in to your account using your credentials if you haven’t directly moved into the Drive’s dashboard.

Step 3: Click on the New button in the top-left corner.

Step 4: Select the “File Upload” option from the list.

Step 5: Choose the PDF you want to edit from your computer and wait until it gets uploaded to Google Drive.

You need to take the file to Google Docs to edit, so follow the steps.

Step 6: Locate the recently uploaded file and Right-click on it.

Step 7: A new menu with various options will open; move your mouse crosshair over Open With.

Step 8: Click on Google Docs to take the PDF there. It’ll also create a separate file with DOCX extension on the same path the PDF is located in your drive account.

After you finish editing the PDF, if you want to download it on your device, follow these steps:

Step 9: Click on the File option on the menu bar’s left side in Google Docs.

Step 10: It’ll provide you with various options, select Download.

Step 11: You’ll get many extensions to choose such as .pdf, .docx, etc., you can select any, and the file will be downloaded on your computer.

Note: Any change you make to the file in Google Docs will automatically be saved on Google Drive.

You can also edit a PDF using Google Drive on your phone, but this method isn’t as favorable as the first one, and the PDF page can also break, making it difficult to edit. So, if you have a PC, I suggest you use the technique mentioned above.

If the phone is your only option, you should ensure that the Google Docs app is pre-installed on your device; before you follow the steps; if not, download it.

Step 1: Open the Chrome browser on your phone.

Step 2: Navigate to https://www.drive.com and log in to your account.

Step 3: Click on the three vertical dots on the top-right side to open various options, and then from the list, find and check the Desktop site box.

Step 4: Click on the New button in the top-left corner.

Step 5: Tap on File Upload and select your desired PDF from your device.

Note: You can also upload the PDF from the Google Drive app by clicking on the plus icon on the bottom right>Upload.

Step 6: Locate the recently uploaded file on your Drive account on the browser.

Step 7: Tap & Hold the file for some time and release it to open a floating window.

Step 8: Click on Open With and select Google Docs.

Step 9: It’ll take you to a new page with a pencil icon on the top-right; click that.
